Baby we might play the silent game, catch each others eye again-- but that's where it ends.

Thrifted shirt, F21 jeans, U.O. stockings, silver Chateau cuff with H&M bangles, Givenchy heels, Chateau bag

- The bag & the cuff was purchased at work today. The bag was originally $60, went on sale to $19.99, & there's a promotion on the sale bags where you take an additional 50% off on them. I got it for $10. Score :). The cuff reminds me of Ninja Turtles because of it's hallow & rugged texture. Cute.

- I've been reading this book for my class. I must say, it's an interesting book. The closest thing to a book that you will see me pick up to read is either the newspaper or magazines. I don't think blogs & journals count since I'm not picking up my laptop :P. Anyway.. it's called "Sustainable Fashion: Why Now?" & it's a book on a collection of essays, papers, & opinions on the fashion industry & how to market, design, advertise, & start a business with "eco-green" ideas involved & all that other good shit. The book gave me a negative balance of $87 in my account since I had to do homework for that class, but it was worth the money spent.

- I'm too lazy to download music. About a year ago, my friend was took my computer since I no longer needed it because I got a MAC & he was suppose to take my music files out of that computer & put it onto his flash drive. I told him that if he got that done, then he could delete everything else in that computer because all I wanted was my music files. Anyway.. he gave me the wrong music files & ended up giving me my brothers' list instead! I was so heated. 3000 songs collected throughout a span of God-who-knows how many years & all down the drain it went. I've resent myself to download anything onto my iTunes because of that experience... until now. I had so many songs, that I forgot what I actually had. I'm growing a bit bored with my current music on my iTunes.. so I must ask-- what songs do you recommend to download? I'm open to any genre & if you mention a title, it'll probably bring back memories of what songs I had of that artist or in close relation to that song, so that will motivate me to download more :).

No, it's not a "stripe/plaid scarf" or "that scarf with all the the lines/diamonds on it" (a few descriptions of what some call them because their fashion terminology is limited. Opps?) It's a keffiyeh scarf (just to make that clear with everyone). These scarves have been a "fashion must-have" since 2005. It had died down for awhile, but now it is slowly rising from its sleep & has been seen on music artists & celebrities (Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, etc.)

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, does anyone know what that scarf stands for?!

Some Americans wore them to advertise that they were against the Vietnam War. The scarves have become the new version of the Che Guevara T-shirts everyone was wearing in the late 1990s, celebrating the revolutionary who fought alongside Fidel Castro to seize power in Cuba in the late 1950s. BUT to get to the point, the keffiyeh scarf is a traditional head dress worn by Muslim freedom fighters.

Instead of being worn as a sign of peace, clueless hipsters are clashing these scarves with their big-bold-font "CHOOSE LIFE"-inspired tees & bright-ass skinny jeans! Yes, I know it's just "a piece of clothing" where people who think who wear it are making a "trendy fashion statement," but where do we draw the line between fashion VS. offending a culture?

To get a bigger picture, get the rest of the 411 from here & here.

Okay, enough of ranting. I'm sorry, but I had to get that out of my system.

Fall is right around the corner & the days have been slowly getting cooler around the tri-state area. That means, it's going to be that perfect time of the year to wear scarves! =D You have no idea ow excited I am. I've been ready for the fall season ever since spring LOL (no, seriously!)

Taken from SonyaScarves, she predicted what the "fashion forecast" for the scarf department would be for this fall/winder season... & I'm only posting it up because I couldn't agree more with what she had to post.....

1. Double duty scarves – Finances are tight & people are looking for essential pieces that they can mix & match. Scarves that are appropriate with a dress coat, look great with a casual sweater coat & can even be worn alone with a turtleneck are going to be very much in fashion this winter.

2. Eco friendly scarves – The environment is on everyone’s mind these days so scarves from eco-friendly materials, recycled materials & unusual fibers are going to be very popular when the temperature drops.

3. One of a kind scarves – Unique & one of a kind items have been very popular for the last few seasons & this coming winter is no exception. Mass marketed scarves from WalMart are just not going to cut it for trendsetters & fashionistas this winter.

4. Extra long scarves – This trend started a couple of seasons ago but it’s still going to be very evident this season. Extra long scarves are chic & very practical since you can wear them a lot of different ways & stay extra warm. Plus they’re a great accent piece.

5. Scarflettes
– The other length extreme, scarflettes, are also going to stay popular. Scarflettes are just big enough to go around your neck & get tucked inside your coat. You can wear the scarflette on its own or with a coat & some people find them more convenient than traditional scarves. But they’re very easy to lose to take care that you always put it in your pocket when you’re not wearing it & don’t spend a lot of money on one in case you lose it.

Like what I said, I couldn't have agreed any more with her! & might I add, leopard print & bold patterns are slowly inching its way into the scene, so don't forget about your leopard print, hounds tooth & paisley scarves!

Aside from finding nifty handmade scarves on Etsy, here are a few more shops where you can find other nifty looking scarves (aside mainstream shops, such as Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 & H&M).

Click pictures for more.

Don't forget, collar scarves are just sexy too `;)

So sew us, Cal & I have been watching Randy Jackson's: America's Best Dance Crew" season 2. So far, I'm loving Fanny Pak! I don't know what it is about them with their "80's look," but I lalaLOVE the retro they're bringing back! I thought their second performance to Kylie Minogue's "Speakerphone" was awesome! (BTW, Kylie Minogue's recent album X is another must-listen-to album that you must-add-to your iTunes! She's my guilty pleasure =X LOL)

So in relation to the 80's, how-to-be-an-80's-baby?
Well.. start off, have an idea of what or how the 80's was.
Must know of Kylie Minogue's continuous existence (we all know Madonna!)
"Choose Life"
Be brave to live in the 21st century to wear slouch socks, exercise gear, spandex, off the shoulder shirts, neon anything, & ohyea actually going old school with it (shopping wise)

What do I mean "shopping wise? Not buying that "vintage 80's INSPIRED" bullcrap =).

I love the look Fanny Pak has going on, but clothes look like things you would get from American Apparel, H&M, Forever 21, UniQlo & any other "mainstream-just about to get tired shopping there"-retail stores (GAH! I try to stay away from these shops!) For those of you who would LOVE to have fun & pull off an "80's look" try these stores....

Show Down Vintage has a few selections on their EBay shop, but they are nevertheless merchandise dating from 50's to the 80's. They have A-grade "vintage goods" without the oh-so costly "vintage price." Bids start at $9.99, so as stated, prices aren't that crazy compared to other "vintage shops." Show Down Vintage didn't forget about the boys either! They have a selection of vintage 80's tees for men, button downs & vests!

Avant Gaudy is my all time fave vintage online shop! I feed my paychecks to these guys! Their selections are hand picked depending on grade, wear, style & quality! I LOVE THEIR SELECTIONS! You won't find any place like these in NYC (c'mon now, $60 for a "vintage tee" that says "H&M" on it or something? PLEASE! Most "vintage shops" here are waaayy over priced!) Anyway.. Avant Gaudy has a huge selections of menswear, womenswear, accessories, clutches, shoes, caps, EVERYTHING! They update on an almost daily basis, so new stuff is s always coming in. Trust me, you won't be disappointed with their selections. Avant Gaudy makes Wanting to dress like Fanny Pak, or an "80's child" easy! You can pick out your whole outfit just from this one shop at ease.

The Avant Gaudy & Sam Coffie issued on Korean Vogue.

Shop Calico is another online vintage shop I've been going to for the past 3 years now. They have a store located in downtown of New Bedford Massachusetts's & have been located there for awhile! They also buy vintage from other local vendors & you can even call them if you want to sell retro-goods from your grandma's closet or attic fin exchange for some dough out of it (set up by appointment only of course). Sorry guys, but they only carry womenswear with a selection of vintage FEMININE dresses that will make you feel like a girly-girl & tops, purses & shoes & boots dating from the 20's up to the late 90's. They also carry collections by indie designers. So far, the pic I posted is a t-shirt by Every Little Counts that I will soon purchase from Shop Calico. Check them out! =D

Okay... although I don't shop at those "mainstream stores" that often, I DO go in for the basic tees & tanks.

American Apparel's Tri-Blend shirts are all around the most comfiest, laid back, just as ever perfect-est tee. They have a Summer Shirt line that has a distinctive shine & is light in weight & soft to touch than any other jersey-tee. Their shirts are kinda like.. you know those under shirts or tees that you wear all the time & later on become comfy & soft, but than realize they've become really beat up- but who cares, because it's still comfy anyway? Yeaaa, that's how their tee's feel like, only you can wear it the first time & feel the softness & not have to put some work into the the tee to become comfy (hahh~ who knew soo much work had to go into a tee for comfort, huh?) Anyway, what I can't stand about tees is the serious "it's obvious your boobs are hard"-nipplage (yes, for the ladies out there who don't wear a bra like me). But damn 2 ply yarn! Anyway, American Apparel should work on something up & coming for that problem with tees for us ladies who go camando in the bust area....

Aside from that you 80's lovely's.. listen to this song, have fun & just dance `;).

I love this record, but I just can't see straight anymore! <3
